Judo Grand Prix Portugal relies on wTVision for live AR graphics

wTVision’s technology took centre stage at the recent Grand Prix Portugal 2024, hosted by the International Judo Federation (IJF).

The event, which took place 26-28 January, saw judoka from 90 countries compete for 14 medals.

In a partnership marked by longevity, wTVision and IJF collaborated to reimagine spatial dynamics, data integration and broadcast design, aiming to encapsulate the passion of judo at every twist and turn. The Grand Prix Portugal 2024 bore witness to an innovative collaboration, where wTVision and IJF orchestrated a live broadcast distinguished by newly enhanced augmented reality (AR) graphics.

The integration of real-time data and broadcast graphics owed its success to the JudoStats CG and the R³ Space Engine rendering engine. JudoStats CG integrated official data in real time, overseen by on-site specialists ensuring the accuracy and immediacy of every piece of information. This robust software combination is the backbone of every IJF Grand Prix event.

Moreover, the AR graphics relied on the same software duo (JudoStats CG and R³ Space Engine) and a tracking system courtesy of StYpe. This setup enabled the seamless integration of real-time data statistics, player details, and performance metrics—into the AR graphics, creating an immersive and interactive viewing experience.
