Marquis supplies Medway to TV2/Fyn

Marquis Broadcast has supplied TV2/Fyn with its sophisticated software toolkit Medway. TV2/Fyn covers the island of Funen and is one of the eight regional television stations associated with the publicly-owned broadcaster TV 2/Danmark.

The implementation of Medway, which now allows integration and content transfer between TV2/Fyn’s Avid editing system and its archive, follows an installation of Medway at the TV/Midt-Vest regional facility two years ago.

“Medway provides enhanced control and speeds up workflows,” explains Simon Fearn, project manager, Marquis Broadcast. “Medway works by delivering a seamless integration between broadcast content applications. In this case, it enables users to look for content on the archive system and move it into the edit suite.

“Medway can then transfer the finished content to multiple platforms or to the transmission server for broadcast. In other words, Medway unifies multi-vendor systems’ workflows that optimise and integrate media clip and sequence transfers, in addition to managing media format conversion and transcoding, and metadata capture and integration.”

Ken Petersen, technical manager of TV2/Fyn, says: “We were impressed with how Medway worked at our TV/Midt-Vest facility. Now, Medway saves us time and enables easy access to content and material transfer at TV2/Fyn.”
