NAB 2023: MediaKind to highlight streaming and monetisation solutions
MediaKind will use NAB 2023 to showcase its latest broadcast and video streaming technology and solutions, and to discuss the latest monetisation approaches behind some of the most successful premium live streaming applications.
Visitors will be able to experience MediaKind’s video streaming approach that combines high-quality AI-based 4K upscaling, massive bandwidth savings brought by Versatile Video Coding (VVC), and large energy savings gained from hardware acceleration without any quality compromise.
The company will demonstrate new monetisation scenarios that include DRM-protected ultra-low latency streaming for premium interactive events, advanced playback controls for monetising short segments, and the automated creation of video summaries. It will also illustrate how operators can leverage its technology and public cloud storage to create next-generation Cloud DVR services.
Allen Broome, CEO, MediaKind, commented: “The entire MediaKind team is eager to deliver even more innovation at our booth this year. Seeing how far we have come since last year’s NAB Show is truly exciting. With the rise of D2C, FAST, AVOD, Ultra Low Latency and other novel content distribution and monetisation models, we are operationalising more streaming experiences than ever in our company’s history.”
MediaKind is also moderating an executive panel on Monday 17 April (10:45 PDT) at the NAB Streaming Summit. Alongside representatives from Microsoft and the NBA, the panel will present a case study on how it helped rebuild the NBA League Pass application. Attendees will hear about functionality not typically found in OTT sports streaming apps. Examples include multiple feeds synchronised to the game and wall clocks, better-targeted ad insertion, streaming latency lower than cable, and added support for a wide array of complex and dynamic entitlements to facilitate monetisation and enforcement of linear rights globally.
