Sony invests in Nevion as it looks to virtualised IP-based future

Sony Imaging Products & Solutions has announced a new agreement with Nevion, a provider of virtualised media production solutions, to establish a strategic partnership in IP-based solutions for broadcasters and other industries. To reinforce this partnership, Sony will also become a leading investor in Nevion by acquiring a minority stake in the company through a share purchase agreement.

As IP network technology continues to transform content creation, Sony has remained at the forefront of IP-based production workflow innovation. Through this partnership with Nevion, Sony will aim to deliver even more advanced, fully-integrated media production solutions, enabling more efficient resource sharing across the network, and can take the scope of remote production to the next level.
