Spectra makes Storries shortlist – again

Spectra Logic is up for an award at the eighth annual UK Storage Awards, dubbed The Storries, making it the third year running that the company has both been nominated for an award and jointly sponsored the event.

Selected by Storage magazine readers’ votes, the Spectra T-Finity library was named a finalist in The Storries’ Tape-based Product of the Year category. Spectra’s T-Finity is billed as the data storage industry’s highest capacity tape library, scaling to more than 30,000 slots without requiring a pass-through mechanism. When joining multiple libraries into a library complex, T-Finity scales up to 740PB capacity.

“The Spectra T-Finity tape library delivers the most efficient and densely packed archive and backup solution available today, and our T-Series libraries’ strong adoption across Europe is evident based on this award nomination,” said Molly Rector, vice president of worldwide marketing and product management, Spectra Logic. “The European market can expect to see a burst of activity from Spectra Logic in the next 12 to 18 months, including product enhancements, corporate program launches, and staffing increases including new company positions.”

The eighth annual UK Storage Awards ceremony will be held on June 23, 2011, at The Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden in London.
