Sport Video Platform to debut at Sportel
Simplestream will use Sportel in Monaco (22-24 October) to showcase a new end-to-end, cloud-based video platform that has been designed to allow broadcasters, rights holders and distributors to launch and maintain sports OTT services.
The white label Sport Video Platform has various features including low latency streaming, live event management, automated generation of video highlights and data integrations for real-time match, league and player stats.
It can provide for immersive HTML5 based applications that can sit across any device, the company said.
For monetisation, Sports Video Platform comes with AVOD/SVOD and Pay Per View options built-in.
Dan Finch, chief commercial officer, Simplestream, said: “In a world of TV Everywhere and increased fan engagement, supporters now expect greater interaction with the sports they love. For many sports clubs, federations and leagues, it can often be hard to reach their dedicated fan base effectively, so we’ve built this elegant platform that allows them to do just that – which in turn keeps their fans engaged and hungry for more content. We’ve launched the Sports Video Platform to provide broadcasters and sports leagues, whatever their size, with the simplest route to providing next-generation video experiences at a global scale.”
London-based Simplestream develops technology for live and on-demand TV services for OTT. Its customers include A+E Networks, News Corp, Sony, TPG and QVC.
