SVC plans Leader, Phabrix demos for CAPER 2013
Test and measurement solutions from Leader and Phabrix will be demonstrated to broadcasters and programme producers attending the CAPER 2013 exhibition in Buenos Aires, October 23-25. Both companies will be represented on the SVC – Sistemas de Video Comunicacion booth.
“We will be showing four Leader test instruments, the LV5770, LV7770, LV5381 and LV7330, plus the Phabrix SXE,” states Rafael Minaya, Leader’s international sales manager for Latin America.
Leader’s LV5770 is a compact broadcast signal analyzer supporting 3G, HD dual link, HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats. Its modular design allows easy customisation. Signal amplitudes, vector, data, colour bars and programme picture can be viewed individually or in quad-split mode on the instrument’s integral 6.3 inch XGA LCD screen. Video frames can be captured manually or on an automated error-detection basis. Video display options include eye pattern and jitter waveform. Eye pattern rise time, amplitude, fall time, timing jitter, current jitter, rising-edge overshoot and falling-edge overshoot can be measured automatically.
The Leader LV7770 rasterizing multi-SDI monitor allows video and audio content to be checked on a much larger screen than can be accommodated in a portable instrument. It has two auto-sensing 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI inputs and can perform tests on a total of 17 video signal formats ranging from standard-definition up to 720p, 1080i and 1080p high-definition. Tri-level sync or NTSC or PAL black burst are accepted for external reference. The selected input is reclocked and can be fed downstream. Capabilities include waveform, vectorscope, peak video level display, SDI/external-sync phase difference, audio, picture and data monitoring functions. Displays can be viewed at full screen size or in assignable combinations. Extensive error detection and error logging facilities are incorporated, including gamut detection and adjustable error thresholds. Digital analysis screens Include data dump as well as equivalent cable length readings.
The Leader LV5381 is a complete multi-screen HD/SD-SDI video and audio test system measuring just 4U by half rack width. HD-SDI or SD-SDI signals from up to four cameras can be monitored on the instrument’s integral 8.4 inch TFT-LCD screen, allowing fast alignment of gain and black balance. Each LV5381 comes complete with Leader’s highly intuitive CINELITE and CINEZONE video signal luminance information analysis tools. These are ideal for camera operators needing to make adjustments quickly and accurately during a production.
Model LV7330 is a compact light-weight and very aggressively priced SDI rasterizer. When connected to an external XGA or WXGA monitor, it can display the picture of an HD-SDI or SD-SDI signal in addition to video signal waveforms, vectors, audio data, and data analyses. The LV7330 also comes complete with Leader’s CINELITE II luminance data display toolset. Display output is via a DVI-I connector to an XGA (1024 x 768) screen. The LV7330 also supports aspect ratios of 16:9 (1366 x 768) and 16:10 (1920 x 1200).
The Phabrix SxE combines a generator, analyzer and monitor within a rugged aluminum housing. Comprehensive signal generation may be locked to either bi-level, tri-level, or SDI sources.
Embedded audio features allow the generation and monitoring of up to four groups (16 mono channels) of audio. With its 4.3 inch TFT screen, images are displayed alongside a color coded control menu. Ethernet networking enables browser-based remote control and monitoring. Up to two gigabytes of test patterns and acquired data can be stored internally. The SxE is powered by an internal lithium polymer rechargeable battery.
