Blackmagic Design Ultra HD demo vehicle set for 30 country tour

BlackmagicScheduled to visit more than 50 cities across 30 countries, the special Mercedes Sprinter – which was built by systems integrator and coach-builder P.A.D. – is a mobile demonstration facility that recreates some of the real world workflows that broadcast, live event and post-production customers use everyday.

“Whilst the vehicle could easily operate as an OB van the design is orientated around a customer’s access to, and understanding of, the solutions Blackmagic Design offer,” reveals Simon Westland, sales director for Blackmagic Design EMEA.

“We always enjoy our interaction with customers at major trade show events; however, these events unfortunately only occur at certain times and in specific cities, really limiting the access our customers have to try out our products or ask questions of our specialists. We wanted to be able to move more freely around the region, not only visiting more customers, but also arriving on the day with a complete, facility class demonstration vehicle ‘ready to go’ for whatever they might want to see or discuss.”

Featuring Blackmagic products, the vehicle showcases the latest UltraHD, 6G SDI and 12G SDI technology within standard industry workflows. Using the recently announced Blackmagic Studio Camera, ATEM 2M/E Production Studio 4K and Smart Videohub 20×20, customers can see a complete live production workflow for creating Ultra HD content while the inclusion of a full DaVinci Resolve grading suite means that colourists can also get a complete Resolve 4K demonstration on a Sony PVM X300 4K reference monitor.

The Ultra HD van will be on show during Broadcast IT in Madrid (May 20 – 22nd) on the Blackmagic Design booth (6E02) and the next scheduled stop is Barcelona on May 26 for an event hosted at Lavinia TC by MasQueVideo, before moving on to Italy and Greece during June.
