Create, Share, Engage 2023: Cloud and edge computing pioneers join speaker line-up

A panel of broadcasters involved in an IBC Accelerator project that is pioneering the use of cloud and edge computing will be among the speakers when SVG Europe’s Create, Share, Engage event takes place in London next week, on 3 May.

The ‘Create and Produce Anywhere’ Accelerator project group has been tasked with exploring how to move live production media processing stages between cloud and edge computing at an event, with the aim of deploying software to the best location making the most efficient use of resources in bandwidth constrained locations.

Andrew Copp, lead technical operator, BBC Sport Scotland, Jonathan Hale, contribution project engineer, Warner Bros. Discovery and IBC Accelerator lead Mark Smith will speak about how they and a wider group of broadcasters and vendors are pioneering the use of software-defined production workflows, potentially to the benefit of lower-tier sports.
