EVS to host panel discussions on AI and the cloud at IBC

AI and the cloud will be explored during two panel discussions hosted by EVS  at IBC, with speakers from Proximus Media House, Google Cloud, Warner Bros. Discovery, EMG and Qvest Group sharing their thoughts on the subjects.

These sessions, led by industry experts, will delve deep into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing on the realms of storytelling and production.

Both panels will be moderated by multicamera director and production consultant, Tony Gregory, and will feature an exciting lineup of speakers representing various fields within the industry.

Session 1: AI & Storytelling – “You’re Not Alone”
In the first session, titled “AI & Storytelling – You’re Not Alone,” speakers will delve into the ways AI can enhance efficiency and foster creativity at various stages of the production lifecycle. While exploring AI’s integration, the session will also address the challenges it poses for industry professionals. Topics to be discussed include the skills that may become obsolete in an AI-driven era and the new skills required for success.

  • Anshul Kapoor, Head of Media Broadcasting Solutions at Google Cloud
  • Darren Long, Sports Technology Integration Project Lead at Warner Bros. Discovery

Session 2: Cloud – “Green or Grey?”
Shifting the spotlight to cloud technology, the second session, titled “Cloud – Green or Grey?” explores the excitement surrounding the cloud revolution. However, with each production having unique needs, the discussion will revolve around whether minimising the carbon footprint in the industry will require partnerships and a mixed deployment of production resources.

  • Rohan Mitchell, Group ESG Director at EMG
  • Thomas Müller, CTO of Qvest Group

When and Where?
Both panel sessions will take place on Friday 15 September in room G105 at the RAI, located near entrance C, which is a two-minute walk from the EVS stand in Hall 10.
