Football Production Summit 2017: France, Oldfield and Krückels to discuss Next Generation Audio

FPS 2017 slider + title 480x320pxThe emergence and long-term potential of Next Generation Audio (NGA) technologies will be the focus of a key panel session at Football Production Summit 2017. An integral part of SVG Europe’s annual calendar, the summit will this year take place at the Allianz Arena, Munich, on 22 March.

NGA technologies such as immersive and object-oriented audio have recently been the subject of a number of significant sports-related trials. As a primary driver behind many technological advances, football is expected to become one of the major beneficiaries of NGA, both in the form of enhanced surround mixes and – at the consumer end – opportunities for interactivity. This session will draw on the input of vendors and systems integrators as they continue to refine the various ways in which broadcasters are aiming to make the beautiful game sound even better.

The ‘Making the Beautiful Game Sound Even Better’ session is sponsored by fiber-based networking technology specialist BroaMan and will be moderated by SVG Europe Editor David Davies. Joining him on the panel will be: Rob France, Dolby, Senior Product Marketing Manager; Dr. Rob Oldfield, University of Salford, Acoustics Research Consultant; and Felix Krückels, Lawo, Director Business Development.
