Glensound adopts Dante networking technology

The reliable and plug-and-play nature of Audinate’s Dante networking technology has led Glensound to adopt the solution into its next generation of broadcast products.

Built on existing networking protocols and standards, Audinate’s Dante technology delivers ultra-low latency, tightly synchronized media, while simplifying installation and configuration of digital media networks. Dante has been adopted by more than 115 OEMs, and there are over 200 partner products available.

Glensound is well-known for digital commentary systems, mixing desks, 4-wire systems, and recently digital audio snakes.

“Glensound has been providing amazing products for broadcast industry for over 40 years,” says Lee Ellison CEO Audinate. “They clearly recognise that networking matters and [by] selecting Dante for its next generation of products, Glensound customers can look forward to the most interoperable digital media solution today and into the future.”

Glensound managing director Gavin Davis adds: “After looking at competing technologies, the Dante system was the one that stood out. The user simplicity and proven reliability is what our customers expect. In our early stages of integration, we are very pleased with the progress being made, and we look forward to announcing new products at NAB 2014.”

Glensound’s next generation of Dante compatible products are expected to be launched at NAB 2014.
