The programming team oversee all content and content placement on the channel. This role manages the strategy for the future development of the channel’s output by working closely with teams from the wider business.

Working with various teams at BT Sport (on air promotion, marketing, PR, acquisitions, research, production services and ad-sales), the successful applicant will be responsible for scheduling the line-up of one of the 3 Channels, BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN. This will include implementing the On Air communication strategy using micro-scheduling of commercial breaks, promotions, presentation items and short-form programmes.

Among specific duties, the presentation scheduler will work with the team to: create coherent and editorially sound transmission schedules and to ensure all timings/durations are exact; ensure live transmission schedules are delivered and communicated effectively to transmission playout, live production teams and other relevant parties; work with programming and promotions departments to implement on-air promotional campaign strategies; co-ordinate the insertion of commercials in the schedules and accuracy of the As-Runs schedule with the sales/traffic department; create programme planning schedules in Zeus (Broadcast Management System) when required; assist in providing research for Programming Initiatives for the channel; and assist in obtaining break formats for programming.
