ITV Sport selected I-MOVIX ultra slo-mo for Rugby World Cup coverage

Ultra slow motion technology from I-MOVIX, provided by EDITEC, was chosen by ITV Sport to capture the excitement of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. EDITEC, the historical partner and distributor of I-MOVIX in the United Kingdom, was the sole supplier of ultra-motion cameras for all ‘Grade A’ games at this event.

Different products from the I-MOVIX range like the latest X10 UHD ultra motion camera and the now industry-standard SprintCam Vvs HD, were used at different venues. In particular, the most advanced X10 UHD ultra motion camera was integrated into Telegenic’s T25 OB truck at Twickenham.

The cameras demonstrated their superior performance in terms of high-frame rates and image quality, but also their distinctive efficiency regarding their de-flickering capability, yielding some beautiful pictures.

“Across the tournament shooting speeds of between 300-400 frames per second were achieved and the games benefited from some truly amazing replays,” comments Steve Cotterill, MD of EDITEC. “It must be said that the camera cannot take all the credit. We had some brilliant cameramen, slo-mo operators, vision engineers and great OB trucks; Telegenic, Europe’s leading OB facilities company, were based at Twickenham for the whole event. Working with these guys makes our job as suppliers easy.”

EDITEC again provided experienced support at the venues, in this case by Steve Cotterill and Paul Tamlyn.
