Prodys joins SVG Europe as a Bronze sponsor

Prodys, which specialises in audio and video compression algorithms and transmission technologies, has joined SVG Europe as a Bronze sponsor.

Specialising in remote live streaming for sports, news and entertainment, as well as audio streaming for radio stations, Prodys offers solutions to meet the dynamic demands of the broadcast market.

The company is particularly known for its Quantum encoder family, a range of products, from single-person portable video encoders to large-capacity multichannel, that includes features such as the first audio streaming encoder with a video decoder.

In addition, the Ikusnet family of rackmount and portable codecs includes the Ikusnet2 BP, a multi-purpose HD/SD AVC (H.264) and HEVC (H.265) portable IP video codec that can broadcast live from anywhere at any time, supporting ad-hoc bandwidth aggregation of up to 10 links (3G/4G/Dual-Ethernet/WiFi) with a statistical real-time load-balancing algorithm that assures best possible network utilisation, reducing jitter and packet losses.

“The world of sports is the great engine of the broadcast industry today and that is why, at Prodys, we are focusing more and more on this sector, designing high-performance equipment for commentators using all the possibilities of transmission over IP networks so that the content reaches homes with the best quality, said Rafa Perez, application & sales engineer at Prodys.

“We are currently working on providing very compact and as complete as possible reporter equipment, combining audio and video in the same box, so that the transport of material to events is the minimum possible, sometimes even replacing an OB vehicle.”
