RaceTech supports ITV Racing as coverage grows in 2021

A reduced crew was at Ascot for the 2020 meet

As horse racing has been allowed to continue as an Elite Sport under strict government guidelines and rules, so demand for content has grown as it provides much needed entertainment to existing fans as well as an increasing new audience. Technical facilities provider RaceTech continues to play a significant part in producing the live pictures for ITV Racing with the number of fixtures covered growing significantly from the start of the year.

John Bozza, CEO RaceTech, commented: “We have been delighted to grow our support of ITV Racing in 2021. Our crews have covered an increasing number of fixtures starting with Musselburgh on New Year’s Day and included a wide variety of racecourses across the country.”

RaceTech was quick to get back in the saddle after an enforced break due to lockdown in 2020, working closely with the Racecourse Association (RCA) and British Horse Racing Authority (BHA) to ensure staff safety. It was on site at Newcastle Racecourse for the first fixture since the shutdown on 1 June, quickly followed by the Newmarket Guineas festival and Royal Ascot, with a scaled down crew.

Bozza added: “Our teams are in place for every race broadcast in Great Britain and we have leveraged this capability to support ITV. Our services have included provision of ITV on-course presenters as well as integrating additional race coverage cameras such as drones and vehicle trackers.”
