Rising star Slomo.tv’s new system used for Bulgarian qualifier

Bulgaria’s TV1 used the newly launched instant replay system, Simple R, from Slomo.tv during its coverage of the World Cup qualifying match between Bulgaria and Denmark on 12th October. Simple R produced instant slow motion replays from three cameras during the game, as well as half-time and end-game highlights – all in HD broadcast quality.

Highlighted during one of IBC’s ‘What Caught My Eye’ sessions in September, Simple R is a 3-in, 2-out instant replay server housed in a 1U, 4.5 kg chassis. The use of SSD delivers a capacity of up to 125 hours in DVC PRO HD, while the specification also includes a multiviewer interface and the ability to search on all three channels simultaneously.

Four-channel recording, data export to QT/MXF, and support of high-speed Super Motion cameras round out the Simple-R’s core features list.

Rumen Kowachew, CEO of TV1, indicated that the Simple R had met the broadcaster’s requirements: “The system is stable and strong. We are all very satisfied.”

The TV1 deployment arrives at a time of sustained expansion for Slomo.tv. Founded in 2007, the US-based company recently initiated the next phase of its international expansion by confirming an exclusive distribution agreement with Broadcast Solutions GmbH.
