Sport Production Summit: panel session to explore the potential of immersive audio

The opportunities presented by more all-encompassing audio experiences for broadcasting – and in particular sports coverage – will be addressed by a panel session at the next SVG Europe technology conference event: Sport Production Summit 2015, which will take place at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam on 10 September.

The world first live broadcast demonstration of a new interactive TV audio system at NAB 2015 underlined the amount of activity currently taking place around the creation of more all-encompassing sound environments for home viewing. With Dolby making great strides with its acclaimed Atmos technology, and console makers continuing to make it easier for broadcast engineers to generate compelling multi-channel sound mixes of major events, this session will provide an opportunity for vendors and broadcasters to discuss the evolution of an audio experience that is commensurate to the UHD revolution – including the specific implications for sports content.

Panellists will include: Robert Bleidt, Fraunhofer USA Digital Media Technologies, General Manager – Audio and Multimedia Division; and Rob France, Dolby, Senior Product Marketing Manager.
