Sunset+Vine named Host Broadcaster for ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015

Sunset+Vine, the UK independent TV sports production and media company, part of The Tinopolis Group, has been awarded the Host Broadcaster contract for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015. The event takes place between 9-26 July and is being jointly hosted by Ireland and Scotland. Twenty live matches, plus highlights programming, form part of a world feed package. Gary Franses will be Executive Producer, supported by Director Gavin Scovell and Producers Dyan Jane and Parijat Seth.

Live match coverage and highlight shows will follow the tempo of Twenty20 cricket with short and sharp player, coach and commentator insights to supplementing the coverage to engage and educate the viewer. There will be more analysis, making the coverage of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier more informative and contextual than ever before. Social media will also be used to support live coverage and vice versa.

Jeff Foulser, chairman of Sunset+Vine, commented: “Experience, innovation, reliability and quality. That’s what the ICC has been assured by choosing Sunset+Vine to be its production partner for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015. We recognise that covering this tournament is a vital step in promoting cricket to become a bigger and better global game and we have a responsibility to help expose cricket outside the traditional Test playing countries. Our editorial approach and live coverage will reflect this, while still telling the basic stories of the game: the tactics, the field settings, the mind- set of the captains and the idiosyncrasies of each player.”

Campbell Jamieson, General Manager – Commercial, at the International Cricket Council, added: “The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier is the culmination of regional qualification for the Associate and Affiliate teams. Having reached the global stage, it was important for ICC to highlight these members to their full potential and so, the WT20 Qualifier will focus on the players, build heroes and engage viewers, the world over.”

Between 1999 and 2005 Sunset+Vine was instrumental in revolutionising how cricket coverage was seen on television, producing nearly 50 live Test matches, 65 one-day internationals and 348 highlights programmes for Channel 4 in the UK. The company has won 26 major broadcast awards for its cricket coverage including five BAFTAs as well as introducing innovations such as the Red Zone, Snickometer, the Analyst, Hawk-Eye and the ultra slomo camera – award winners in their own right. Since 2006 Sunset+Vine has produced daily highlights of both the domestic Test series and One-Day Internationals for Channel Five.
