SVG Europe heading to Manchester for SportTech 2015

Following hot on the heels of a successful Football Production Summit, held in Barcelona, SVG Europe has issued a full programme for its next event – SportTech, scheduled for Manchester on 6/7 May. Following technical tours of two leading Manchester-based facilities on 6 May, the Summit itself will take place at Manchester United on the afternoon of 7 May, following a detailed guided tour of MU itself.

The Summit will commence with a keynote Q&A featuring BBC Sport director Barbara Slater. From BBC Sport’s base in Manchester, Slater is responsible for approximately 20,000 hours of global sports coverage across radio, TV and online each year, including live sporting events, highlights, sports news and magazine programmes.

Broadcasters, OB companies and more will contribute to a special session examining innovations at the recent 6 Nations and forthcoming Rugby World Cup, whilst a special Case Study will go behind the scenes at MUTV – an increasingly influential content-creator in its own right.

Other sessions planned for the packed one-day programme include: ‘Live Production Over IP: Charting the Transition from Broadband’; ‘Wheels Within Wheels: Production Innovation at Tour de France 2015’; ‘Audio Consoles and the Evolution of OB Facility Design’; ‘Integrated Virtualised Services: A Revolution in Digital Content Production’; and ‘Post-NAB 2015, Can We Define a 4K Roadmap?’.

Full details of the technical tours, and panellists set to appear in the sessions, will be released soon. To view the programme, and to register, please visit https://www.svgeurope.org/sport-tech-europe-2015/full-programme/.
