SVG Europe’s FutureSport 2015 to examine the potential and pitfalls of High Dynamic Range

The hot topic of HDR (High Dynamic Range) will be the subject of discussion by an expert panel at SVG Europe’s FutureSport 2015. The final SVG Europe technology summit of this year will take place at The Kia Oval on 2 December.

Undoubtedly one of the major talking points at IBC, HDR continues to gain momentum as a ‘must have’ feature for next-generation TV services. Nonetheless, it has potentially far-reaching implications for production practice, delivery chains and domestic viewing – many of which will be considered during this session.

Questions to be addressed include: how does it impact camera shading? How can brightness be managed so that it doesn’t cause eye strain and fatigue? And what are some of the new terms and concepts that need to be understood to make the right choices for your organisation?

Panellists mulling the rise of HDR will include: Mark Grinyer, Sony Professional Solutions Europe, Head of Sports Business Development; Mark Horchler, Elemental, Head of Marketing EMEA; and Andy Quested, BBC HD & UHD, Head of Technology . The session will be moderated by industry journalist and frequent SVG Europe contributor Adrian Pennington.
