NAB 2019: Auto speech recognition technology added to Tedial live sport MAM
Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology from Speechmatics has been added to Tedial’s live sport system SmartLive, allowing operators to search for audio comments made during a sporting or live event.
Due to be shown at NAB next month, the technology tie-up also facilitates the automatic creation of file locators and provides the ability to import a file or drop it into a watch folder and manually generate speech-to-text from the commentary track.
Speechmatics is a machine learning and auto speech recognition technology developer based in Cambridge, UK.
Jérôme Wauthoz, the vice president of products at Tedial, said: “The beauty of technology like this is that this initial integration enables us to continue to benefit from further improvements in years to come. This is what machine learning is all about, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with Speechmatics to further enhance our solutions for an enriched customer experience in the weeks, months and years to come.”
The additional functionality for SmartLive is said to speed-up access to content, “enabling production teams to significantly increase their efficiency and output without needing to scale up, leaving them more time for creativity, such as personalised stories that enhance the overall viewer experience.”
Ian Firth, the vice president of products at Speechmatics, added: “Given the incredibly competitive nature of the marketplace in which they operate, both Tedial and its customers require the most accurate and efficient solutions, and we see this partnership as further testament to the quality of our product.”
Speechmatics and Tedial will be exhibiting at NAB on stands SL6410 and SU1924 respectively.
