BR implements Marquis’ Medway software

German public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) has deployed Marquis Broadcast’s integration solution, Medway, as part of anew AVvid edit and interplay PAM and MAM system which has been installed at its Munich headquarters. Medway will be employed to integrate the movement of media and metadata in and out of the Avid and other component systems.

Simon Fearn, Medway project manager for Marquis Broadcast, comments: “BR was one of the first installations to take advantage of Medway’s sophisticated software tool kit delivering a seamless and cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications. Six years on and BR needed to upgrade. Following a detailed tender process, won by Avid at the end of 2011, Marquis was subcontracted to Avid to supply the latest version of Medway, along with bespoke developments enabling integration with other existing third party and legacy systems at the public broadcaster.”
