Sports media veteran Nick Shaw is joining Greenfly as managing director of EMEA. In his new role, he will be overseeing the company’s expansion across Europe, Middle East and Africa, working closely with customer success, sales, and marketing teams as well as overseeing relationships with strategic enterprise customers.

Shaw brings over 20 years of leadership experience across sports and digital media. Prior to joining Greenfly, he served as the lead of sports teams, leagues and federations at Meta where he focused on partnerships across EMEA including UEFA Champions League, UEFA Men’s and Women’s Euros, FIFA Men’s and Women’s World Cup, Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup and the Olympics. Prior to Meta, he held various senior roles instrumental to building digital capabilities at sports and broadcast properties, including serving as the head of digital at Rugby Football Union, head of sport at Now TV (Sky) and the head of digital at the England and Wales Cricket Board.

“Nick has tremendous experience helping sports leagues and media companies transition to a digital-first mentality,” said Greenfly CEO Daniel Kirschner. “He has a strong strategic vision around the future of short-form digital content, and his motivating leadership will be a driving force behind Greenfly’s continued growth and expansion. We are looking forward to having Nick’s media expertise guide our EMEA team and manage our existing teams in London and Paris.”

In conjunction with solidifying leadership in Greenfly’s London office, Shaw will work directly with Greenfly co-founders Daniel Kirschner and Shawn Green to oversee existing sports and entertainment customer relationships.

“I am beyond thrilled to join Greenfly and have the ability to work alongside some of the most talented individuals in the industry,” said Shaw. “I’ve had the chance to work with some of the biggest organisations around the world, and Greenfly is truly at the forefront of helping these leagues reach the next generation of fans. Our EMEA team is primed for growth and I’m looking forward to accelerating the brand’s presence overseas.”
