Videe brings teqball to the masses in Hungary

The biggest names in teqball were in the Hungarian city of Esztergom last week for the 1st Teq Festival, one month after the successful European Games, which attracted a total of 75,000 spectators.

Some 82 players from eight countries in three categories (women’s, men’s and mixed doubles) participated in the festival, which was shown live on Hungarian Sport TV, Teq TV and on YouTube, with highlights packages also made available. It was joined by the Teqvoly World Tour, which saw eight nations represented in its first European competition of the year.

Italy’s Videe was on site as host broadcaster for the event and was also responsible for the AV filming of all matches. The company’s HD12 OB truck, and full crew, captured the action utilising Sony HDC-1500 cameras. Other kit in the truck includes Sony vision mixers, a Lawo Nova 73 audio matrix and a Riedel Artist 128 intercom system.

Festival organiser and the sport’s governing body FITEQ has also recently signed a deal with China Sports Zhibo.tv that saw the media platform stream the Esztergom event in China. It will also show the finals of the Teqball Tour Qingdao and the Teqball World Championships 2023, as the sport continues to live up to its tag of the world’s fastest growing sport.

“We are glad to have one of the world’s biggest online media platforms among our right-holder partners. Teqball has its path in Asia and as the upcoming event will be held in Qingdao, China, then a week later in Koh Samui, Thailand, China Sports Zhibo.tv was a perfect choice. The partnership started with our latest World Tour stop in Esztergom, Hungary and as Teqball is getting bigger in China, we truly believe that a long-term alliance was formed,” said Gábor Felegyi, commercial & event director of FITEQ.

“The partnership with China Sports Zhibo.tv is one of the biggest steps for FITEQ in order to reach the audience in China,” added Raphael Chen, head of partnerships at FITEQ. “With their experience in streaming sports events, I am sure teqball will influence everyone in the country.”
