Videlio selected to build CNNMoney Zürich newsroom and studio operations

VIDELIO, the digital media systems integrator, has announced that it has been awarded the set-up and implementation of the future CNNMoney Switzerland’s new Zürich-based newsroom and studio operations.

As of October 2017, VIDELIO will fast-track deployment of the new CNNMoney Switzerland 20-seat newsroom and state-of-the-art 200 square meter studio and associated gallery. Installation services include end-to-end project management, technical specifications, furniture manufacturing, staging, cabling and onsite integration, system and administrative training, and on-air coaching.

“Our tight timeline to launch a new station required that we find a partner with a strong track-record of setting up newsrooms and studios from a blank slate,” says Jean-Yves Carabot, CTO of CNNMoney Switzerland. “What’s more, we had decided early on to deploy Dalet as a unified newsroom, production, playout, automation and MAM platform. VIDELIO had the needed expertise to help us do both.”

The CNNMoney Switzerland news and studio workflow will be based on the Dalet Galaxy platform, which will manage newswires, story creation and rundowns, from any desktop workstation. Studio playout is ensured by Dalet Brio servers and graphics by Dalet Cube. Dalet Xtend will provide a gateway into the Adobe Premiere Pro CC editors. Anchors and live shows will enjoy the 200 square meter studio equipped with four cameras and Autoscript teleprompters, multiple NEC touch screens and a presentation desk that can welcome up to five people. The studio will be controlled from a production gallery leveraging a NewTek TriCaster, Grass Valley Imagestore and Ross Video Ultrix routing.

“This newsroom and studio deployment is typical of modern systems integration,” explains Vincent Loré, CEO of VIDELIO MEDIA. “Beyond traditional hardware installation and configuration, workflow design and implementation along with training and coaching have become an essential part of the services that we provide. That’s where the experience that we’ve acquired working with Dalet for broadcasters such as France Télévision, Africa News or MediOne is essential.”
