Sony opts for Gold sponsorship of SVG Europe

Sony has renewed its Gold sponsorship of SVG Europe. The news comes after a busy IBC for the company, with multiple product launches and announcements.

This includes the launch of Burano, part of the CineAlta camera family. Described as the world’s first digital cinema camera with PL-mount to support in-body image stabilisation, it features an 8.6K full-frame sensor and has the ability to shoot at full-frame, Super 35, and also features a desqueeze function for anamorphic lenses.

This year has also seen a number of updates to Sony’s Networked Live offering for remote and distributed production. This includes the launch of a new remote production unit, the CBK-RPU7, for high-quality video transport over 5G networks, and a software switcher, M2L-X, usable both on-premises and in the cloud.

Recent projects in the world of sport include the use of Sony cameras and technology systems for the Coppa Italia final, while Gravity Media has replaced a significant quantity of its global camera fleet with Sony’s next-generation HDC-Series live production camera chains, which continue to support the capture and broadcast of events in the global sports and entertainment calendar, including ATP Tour tennis and Formula E.
