Timeline renews Bronze sponsorship of SVG Europe
Fresh from supplying joint facilities for ITV Sport and BBC Sport at the FIFA World Cup, technical services provider Timeline has renewed its Bronze sponsorship of SVG Europe.
Quinn Cowper, Timeline TV’s head of engineering, described the recent project as “one of our biggest and most complex to date”, citing sustainability as a key driver for the broadcasters’ decision to join forces in Doha.
This was also in focus during Timeline’s work with Whisper and BBC Sport for the Women’s Euros, where trucks running on biofuel were utilised and remote production meant moving as few people and as few kits as possible around the country.
In a year of major projects, Timeline was also involved in the Commonwealth Games, working on everything happening at the NEC, the location of the IBC, the host broadcast operation and several sporting events.
It’s perhaps no surprise then, that 2022 also saw major investment in the company’s studio and OB fleet, adding a raft of new studios, galleries and trucks to its facilities arsenal as part of a multi-million-pound expansion.
New presentation studios and galleries were added to the firm’s Ealing Broadcast Centre, doubling its capacity, while a new remote production hub has been installed at Timeline North, in MediaCityUK, Salford.
Timeline also bought three additional large UHD units and a sizeable VT truck, bringing the number of 4K units in its fleet to five.
