wTVision provides RFID table, cards system for Pokerstars.it event

The wTVision team used Poker Stats CG to provide graphics coverage for the final of the Pokerstars.it tournament, which was held in Saint Vincent, Italy, recently and steamed live all over the world. The project saw PokerStars working with wTVision for the first time.

The service provided to PokerStars included the project development (integration of PokerStats CG with the RFID table and cards), the implementation of the official graphics’ look and feel of the EPT (European Poker Tour), and the operational service during the live broadcast.

One wTVision operator used Poker Stats CG to cover every single action in the final table and provide instant odds and pot sizes based on the live action. The RFID system recognises the cards (which are identified by unique tags) and the graphics are shown automatically, thereby giving the graphics operator more scope to analyse game trends/statistics and provide general interest graphics such as leaderboards, global chip counts and in-depth assessment of the player’s performance.

Alex Fraser, CTO of wTVision, comments: “This seems to be the future of live poker events. It is much cheaper than using hole cams for each player and it proved to be 100% accurate in reading the cards.”
