Hit the North: BVE hails 8% attendance boost

Next year’s BVE North will again take place at Manchester’s leading exhibition venue

This year’s North of England production, post and content delivery show pulled in 2587 unique visitors – a healthy increase of 8% on the 2011 figures. The free seminar programme proved especially popular, with the number of revisits increasing by 43% against last year.

Topics under discussion ran the gamut from editing tips and file-based format to script development and lighting techniques.

Meanwhile, exhibitors benefited from a high quality of visitors: some 43% were employed in management positions with purchasing power. They came from leading local, national and international companies, among them the BBC, Channel 10, City Broadcasting, dock10, Engage Sports Media, Fremantle Media Ltd, ITV, Lime Pictures, Manchester Digital, Microsoft, Red Bee Media, S.O.AP. Media Productions and Sumners.

Notable product demos included the new, and much-publicised, Sony F55 camera, Vinten Radamec’s CP4 control solution, and the Røde Reporter microphones.

Anita Pal, event director of show organiser i2i Events, describes BVE North 2012 as “an incredible success, building on the strong foundations that were put down last year to create an important date in the industry calendar. We are really pleased to have the support of the industry for this event and it’s been great to see how busy the stands and theatres have been throughout the show.”

The next BVE North will take place in Manchester from 12-13 November 2013. The next ‘southern’ BVE is scheduled for 25-28 February, to be hosted at ExCeL London.
